POLICE have launched a manhunt for a convicted burglar believed to have links to Hampshire.

Officers are hunting Peter James Evans, who is wanted for breaching the terms of his licence.

The 29-year-old was released from prison in September 2017 after serving part of a five-year prison sentence for burglary.

Since his release, he has failed to comply with the conditions of his licence and a recall notice was issued on Tuesday 24 July 2018.

Evans, from Bournemouth, is described as white, around five feet 11 inches tall and with short brown hair.

He is believed to have links to the New Forest area.

Detective Sergeant Mark Shields, of Dorset Police, said: “We have been carrying out a number of enquiries to locate Peter Evans and these efforts are ongoing.

“I am now releasing his image in the hope that someone will know of his whereabouts.

“While we have no information to suggest that he presents a direct risk to members of the public, I would urge anyone who sees Evans not to approach him but to immediately contact Dorset Police on 999.”

If you see Peter Evans you should dial 999 immediately. Anyone else with other information should call 101, quoting occurrence number 55180117246 or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.
