AN ELDERLY was attacked in her home by an intruder who attempted to sexually assault her last week.

Police have released an e-fit of a man following the incident, which happened in Hightown Gardens, Ringwood, on Friday, June 1.

The victim suffered a minor facial injury after a man entered her home at around 8pm.

Officers are "actively investigating" the "unusual" incident.

Detective Inspector Adam Edwards said the e-fit depicts a man officers would like to speak to in connection with their investigation.

“This is an unusual incident and officers are making enquiries to establish the full circumstances," he said.

He urged anyone who saw someone "acting suspiciously" in the area to come forward and speak to police.
