HAMPSHIRE European Movement is launching Café Europa to provide an opportunity for Europeans of every nationality to celebrate and share their European identity and culture, with a talk and discussion on a European topic in an informal café setting.
Modelled on the successful Winchester Café Scientifique, the first event on Thursday March 12 features a discussion on the Erasmus programmes which provide opportunities for young people to study and work in other European countries.
It will be at Winchester Discovery Centre at 7.30pm with bar open from 7pm.
Free to attend, donations are welcome. Booking is advisable, via www.hants4eu.org.
Café organiser William Vine said: “The government may have taken the UK out of the EU, but Winchester is one of the most pro-European areas in the country. Café Europa provides a social focus for pro-Europeans to congregate, share their enthusiasm and discover more about the European project. EU nationals are particularly welcome.”
