HIGHLY acclaimed festive funny Nativity! The Musical is to visit Southampton next week.

The cracker of a musical features Love Island winner Dani Dyer, who reprises her role as Polly Parker.

Best known for winning the 2018 series of ITV’s Love Island, the popular reality TV dating show, Dani is the daughter of Eastenders actor Danny Dyer, who plays Mick Carter in the soap.

She has been co-hosting Capital Weekend Breakfast alongside presenter Rob Howard and will be back on TV screens soon as the host of a yet-to-be-announced TV series.

The role of Polly Parker saw her make her stage debut last year.

Dani will be joined on stage by 14 talented Hampshire youngsters who appear as the pupils of Oakmoor School.

Every child in every school has one Christmas wish, to star in a Nativity, and at St Bernadette’s School they’re attempting to mount a musical version! But, for some reason, teacher Mr Maddens has promised that a Hollywood producer is coming to see the show to turn it into a film. Join him, his teaching assistant the crazy Mr Poppy, hilarious children and a whole lot of sparkle and shine as they struggle to make everyone’s Christmas wish come true.

Nativity the Musical features all of your favourite sing-a-long hits from the movies including Sparkle and Shine, Nazareth, One Night One Moment, She’s the Brightest Star and a whole host of new songs.

Scott Garnham, of Billy Elliot The Musical and Les Miserables fame, reprises the role of Mr Maddens, while Ashleigh Gray, best known for playing the leading role of Elphaba in Wicked in the West End, returns as Jennifer Lore.

Scott Paige, who has appeared in Made in Dagenham, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and The Addams Family, will be making his musical lead debut as Mr Poppy.

The Hampshire children set to be appear in the show are Fireniece Stafford, Raela-Belle Farndell, Jessie Tennant, Isabel Hartley, Gretel Bradwell, Isla-Faye Wren, Elodie Dabreo, Grace Curtis, Alexander Ball, Max Ivemey, George Vidler, Samuel Wyatt, Leo Cropley and Leo Bailey.

This is the third time the smash hit musical has toured the UK but its first visit to Mayflower Theatre.
