ONE of the final matches to be played at the Dell was a testimonial to a Southampton stalwart.
On May 22, 2001, Saints fans had stars in their eyes as more than 50 players turned out to pay tribute to Jason Dodd.
There were so many that it was hard to keep track of who was who - and even how many were on the pitch at any one time.
Woggy’s Wanderers, managed by kitman Malcolm “Woggy” Taylor, finished the game with 12 after Dave Beasant sneaked back on undetected!

It was that kind of night. No-one really cared about the score (Saints 1, Woggy’s Wanderers 3) with fans switching their support between the two sides as the mood took them.
The main object of the exercise, though, was to acknowledge skipper Jason Dodd’s loyalty and commitment to the club for more than a decade on his testimonial night.
