IT WAS certainly a star-studded affair.

Local and national celebrities including actor Bill Nighy, Saints footballer Matt Le Tissier and singer and guitarist Richard Digance were among those who donned their best outfits for the premiere of British film Blow Dry in Southampton on March 27, 2001.

The movie was based loosely around the experiences of the world’s fastest barber - Southampton’s late Trevor Mitchell.

Stretch limousines brought guests including Mr Mitchell and a whole host of models to the Odeon.
