REGARDING the old photo of all the passenger liners in Port, I believe the reply given by Robert Smith of Romsey to be off the mark.
The photo must be incorrectly captioned, as the ship shown as the Olympic has three funnels whereas the Olympic had four, and Mr Smith's mother could not have gone to Canada in 1956 on the Homeric as the ship was broken up in 1935.
The Mauretinia was also scrapped in 1935 with the Berengaria going in 1938, however the Empress of Britain did not enter service until 1931 so the photo must have been taken between May 1931 and 1935.
