MANY of us have memories of Jumpin’ Jaks nightclub – some good, others bad.
Duelling pianos, Spinny Man and the barn dance theme would draw in the clubbers -most of them queuing across the foyer of Leisure World even if it was empty inside.
Revellers were covered in the unmentionable when, in February 2003, a sewage pipe exploded over the dance floor. It was esitimated that a crowd of 750 people were inside the night-spot when the pipe became detached.
Saints footballers Matt Le Tissier and Claus Lundekvam could often be found enjoying a night out in the corner.
Dan Wight posted the above image of Jumpin’ Jaks nightclub in Facebook group We grew up in Southampton and wrote: "A little something for us 30s, 40s and even 50 somethings!
"Please bring back this place!"
The pictures in the gallery above show the venue through the years.
