IT WAS a big year for Trojans' mini rugby tournament in 1995 – not only was the event the largest, but the club were largely victorious on the pitch too.
With more than 800 youngsters taking part, the event was so popular it had to be split across two separate venues.
The younger kids played at the club in Stoneham Lane whilst the older age groups competed at King Edward VI School’s ground in Wide Lane.
It was the first year the annual tournament had included the older age groups, effectively doubling the number of players.
Trojans matched their organisational success with victory on the field, winning five of the nine events.
