AS temperatures drop across the UK we take a look when almost all flights in and out of Southampton Airport were cancelled - 10 years to the very day.
Freezing fog played havoc for air passengers as flights to and from the city were cancelled.
The weather made it impossible to land at times and almost no planes were able to arrive at the Eastleigh airfield all day
The airport remained open, but passengers were advised to contact their airlines before they travelled to the airport.
Visibility had dropped to about 200m, which is way short short of the parameters needed to land an aircraft.
