SOME go to catch up with friends while others may visit for a quiet pint.
The Daily Echo takes a look back at another seven pubs lost in the mists of time and other indulgences.
There was a time when watering holes were plentiful and could be found just a stones throw from any Southampton home.
Over the years we've seen them slowly vanish, but these pictures will hopefully keep the the memories of them fresh.

The Anchor and Hope
The pub was built on the site of the old Andover Inn which dated back to the 1850s. The pub, which was located at 125 Foundry Lane, Freemantle, closed in 2011 and is now a Co-op store.
Around the World
Around the World was opened in Town Quay in the 1990s and closed in 2006. The building is now used as offices.
Bevois Town
The Bevois Town Hotel was located at 6 Middle Street, Inner Avenue and was closed in 2010. The pub was converted into homes.
Blacksmiths Arms
The Blacksmiths Arms dated back to at least 1840 and changed it's name briefly in the 1990s to The Ringside. The pub, which was situated at 197 Romsey Road, Shirley closed in 2007 and was converted into homes.
Honest Lawyer
The Honest Lawyer was located at 59 Lodge Road. Sometime after closing the premises it reopened as Lime Bar.
Queensland Tavern
The Queensland Tavern was once situated on Exmoor Road and is now a home.
Royal Oak
The Royal Oak was located on Houndwell Road before being closed in 2016. The pub has since been demolished.
