WITH the great weather and the need to to perform exercise while social distancing, there's no doubt hiking has become as popular as ever.
With this in mind, the Daily Echo takes a look at those who took steps to help others.
Three-hundred children from New Milton Infant School set off on a charity walk on July 3, 1993.
The kids donned daisy hats and badges as they walked two miles to raise money for the Wessex Cancer Trust. The charity’s logo is a daisy , which prompted the flower theme.
ASDA staff braved the sweltering heat two days later to walk a gruelling 35-mile route through Hampshire.
The team raised more than £500 for the Wessex Heartbeat appeal by stomping between ASDA stores in Eastleigh, Fareham, Southampton and then back again.
“It was absolutely exhausting but we’re still pleased we did it,” said Eastleigh customer services manager Neil Lindsey at the time.
Plenty of others put their best foot forward in 1993, as can be seen in this collection of images.
