TO celebrate the news that Paultons Park will be reopening on July 4, the Daily Echo takes a look at pictures from the past.
Youngsters have been enjoying the thrill of riding roller coasters and log flumes at the Ower based park for decades.
Originally named Paulton’s Park and Bird Gardens, gates were first opened to the public on May 17, 1983.
But things looked very different in those primary stages of life.
As the park consisted only of an adventure playground, museum, birds and animals, no more than four staff were needed at any one time.
Things have changed dramatically over the years and now the park packs more than 70 rides and attractions. Five of those on the 140-acre plot are roller coasters and six water rides.
Peppa Pig World proved to be a hit since opening in 2011, attracting young visitors from far and wide.
The pictures on these pages show the park being enjoyed over the years.
