KING Edward VI School’s class of 2000 were a clever bunch, make no mistake.
The group, which consisted of 104 boys and 43 girls, all sat their religious studies GCSE a year early with 96 per cent obtaining C or above, 83 per cent getting a B or above and 48 per cent achieving an A or A*.
On the stage, a large number of pupils were involved in productions of Bugsy Malone as well as Roses of Eyam.
Many of the pupils also took part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, eight of them bagging a bronze and dozens more working towards silver.
A number of the year group were involved in projects that served the local community, such as helping primary school children to read.
The dedication to helping others went a step further when a group of pupils visited orphanages in Romania.
