IT'S the 1950s and this is the view looking down Above Bar towards the Bargate.
The pavements are swamped with shoppers and the area is yet to be pedestrianised.
On the right are Toogoods, Stead and Simpson, and the Daily Echo offices – the left Woolworths, Saxons, and Smiths.
