JOIN us on another trip back through time - this week to December 1989.
These pictures provide a nostalgic look back at life and fashions of the time and include funny man Russ Abbott during a visit to Southampton General Hospital. He was in the city to star in the panto of Jack and the Beanstalk.
Southampton Airport hit a large milestone as they reached their 500,000th customer.
While the events pictured were taking place, this is what was happening nationally:
December 3
Margaret Thatcher, George Bush and Mikhail Gorbachev declared the end of the Cold War. It had begun 40 years previously.
December 6
BBC ended the original run of Doctor Who. It had been running for 26 years.
December 30
22 people involved in the Lockerbie disaster were among those recognised in the Queen's New Year's Honours List.
