NOT many of us had the Internet in 1999 and most presents would have been bought on the high streets.
Hampshire residents fought against the endless tides of busy shoppers as they took to shopping districts in order to grab their loved ones gifts.
These pictures show shoppers eagerly raiding shelves as well as store staff preparing for the mad rush.
The areas featured in these images include Fareham, Wickham, Hedge End, Totton, Bishop’s Waltham and Romsey.
