THE Daily Echo embarks on another adventure back through time - this week taking a nostalgic look back at pictures from November 1969.
Organisations were clearly hungry for social engagements - lunches and dinners were prevalent. From insurance branch managers to fruit and potato merchants - they were all at.
While Hampshire residents were busy eating and chatting, and while the events in the pictures above were taking place, this is what was happening nationally:
November 15
BBC and ITV began regular colour television broadcasts.
November 16
Children’s stop-motion animation Clangers aired for the first time on BBC. The show, created by Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin, enjoyed 150 episodes across five series.
November 17
The Sun newspaper was relaunched as a tabloid under the ownership of Rupert Murdoch. First published September 15, 1964, The Sun was a broadsheet for little over five years.
November 25
John Lennon returned his MBE. He did so in protest against the British Government’s involvement in Biafra and their support of the US war in Vietnam.
