TRAFFIC was brought to a standstill as more than 100 Christians marched through Romsey to launch an evangelism week.
Singing, dancing and waving banners, they made their way through the town to live music by a gospel group.
The march was the first in a week of events organised by the Gospel Church in North Baddesley.
Throughout the week leading up to the march on August 5, 1989, were children’s groups, youth events, teaching seminars, healing services and nightly Gospel meetings.
Preacher was the Rev David Nellist, a missionary and evangelist who worked all over the world. He also ran a Christian radio station which broadcast throughout Europe.
