IT was a warm day when fundraising rafters made waves in the water at St Denys.
The warm weather brought the crowds out in droves on June 7, 1999, to witness the spectacle of the raft race while soaking up the rays.
Numerous rafts, each loaded with six hard-working paddlers, took to the water to raise money for charity.
Rafts came in all shapes and sizes - some clearly more hydrodynamic than others.
Those onboard were workers from various local businesses.
