PUPILS from Oak Lodge School, near Hythe, scaled new heights when they went on a day out with a difference
Twenty five pupils and four members of the Oak Lodge staff were taken for a day’s abseiling and climbing at Ferny Crofts Scout Centre, near Beaulieu on April 24, 1999.
Army Cadet Force leaders from Southampton’s Five Troop, based at the East Point Centre, showed the determined Oak Lodge pupils the ropes and then kept an eye as they enjoyed the ups and downs of the centre’s climbing wall.
The pupils were given certificates who were full of praise and gratitude for the army cadets.
