NURSING staff from Coldeast Hospital, Sarisbury, didn’t even bother getting out of bed to attend a fundraising event.
Those who did – nearly 70 of them – pushed the beds from the hospital to Bursledon and back to raise money to take a dozen children from the hospital away for a week.
The sponsored bedpush was led by Swanwick Lions Club in its minibus.
Entrants were in teams of seven with six pushing and one in bed.
The beds were themed with imaginative garb inspired by ET, Cleopatra and horror movie characters.
“We hope to raise several hundred pounds,” said student nurse Caroline Fletcher.
