SOUTHAMPTON fighters proved their worth in qualifiers for the Olympic Games.
Around 200 hopefuls battled at Eastleigh’s Fleming Park in the preliminary selections for the Great British team of Sydney 2000.
The competition took place on February 13, 1999, with four fighters from each weight class qualifying – all heading to the finals in Doncaster.
