Am-dram was a big part of Hampshire life, as can be seen in these images.
Bitterne Park School acted out Wizard of Oz while Netley Court School performed Greasy Cinderella.

March 17
Nottingham Forest beat Southampton 3-2 at Wembley Stadium. In doing so they won the Football League Cup for the second year running.
March 18
An explosion killed three men at the Golborne colliery in Golborne, Greater Manchester.
March 28
James Callaghan's government lost a motion of confidence by one vote. The next day he announced that a General Election would be held on May 3, 1979.
March 31
The Royal Navy withdrew from Malta.
