IT SEEMED as though Kings Somborne resident had turned out to see the villages first carnival in three years.
Ten floats and 30 fancy dress entries lured hundreds of people into the sunshine on August 23, 1980.
The event had a Worzel Gummidge theme, and although actor Jon Pertwee had another engagement, his wife, Ingebourg, judged some of the classes and presented prizes.
