SHOLING handed out a 4-0 footballing lesson to newly-promoted Baffins Milton Rovers in the Sydenhams Premier Division last night.
The ruthless Boatmen scored four times and created a host of other chances – despite playing the second half with ten men.
Lee Wort began the rout before Barry Mason smashed home for 2-0 on 26 minutes.
Brother Byron Mason headed home a corner to stretch the lead but, with just a minute to go before the break, Marvin McLean was sent off for what Sholing described as “reacting to some disgraceful provocation.”
But, even with a man down, the Boatmen managed to make it 4-0 on the hour – Dan Miller heading in at the far post from Micky Hubbard’s third assist of the night.
Sholing boss Dave Diaper tweeted: “Good 4-0 win lads against a team who talked the talk but couldn’t walk the walk. Up the Boatmen.”
*A penalty from ex-Saint Jamie White put Blackfield & Langley in the driving season in their FA Cup extra preliminary round replay against Camberley Town at Gang Warily.
But, after White had hit the woodwork with a second spot kick, the Watersiders had had Callum Cuniffe-Pilley sent off for a second yellow card, Camberley hit back to force extra time and went on to win 2-1.
