HAMBLE Club have netted an astonishing 35 goals in five games since promotion to Sydenhams One.

After winning 9-1 at Pewsey Vale last week, the table-topping Monks proved even more ruthless against East Cowes Vics on Saturday, thumping the Islanders 14-0.

Six-goal James Thomson and four-goal Dougie Rowe led the rout, backed by Mike Byrne, Coby Wilson, Jamie Mansell and sub Ricky Bull.

Meanwhile Blackfield & Langley have replaced Portland United at the Sydenhams Premier summit, inflicting the Islanders’ first defeat of the season at New Grove Corner.

Goals from Carl Preston and player-coach Tim Sills made it five wins from five for the Watersiders.

Sub Gary Austin fired third-placed Moneyfields to a slender 1-0 win over FA Cup heroes Alresford, while Sholing and Bashley both triumphed to stay fourth and fifth respectively.

Sholing won their Friday night showdown with Lymington Town 3-1 through Alex Sawyer and a Dan Mason brace, including one from the penalty spot.

Lymington replied through Flynn Begley and were denied another when Boatmen’s keeper Ryan Gosney saved Ben Sullivan’s penalty.

A moment of note came in the 79th minute when Marlon Mason, cousin of brothers Barry, Byron and Dan, went on, meaning Sholing had four Masons playing at the same time!

Kabba Jack netted Bashley's winner in a 2-1 home result over Andover Town.

Fawley AFC won Friday’s other game 6-4 against Verwood, led by a Matt Vining hat-trick. Dane Sayce (2) and Keiran Roche also notched for the Oilers.
