EASTLEIGH MP Chris Huhne took time out from his busy schedule to help canvass support for the Daily Echo Save Our Bus Pass petition yesterday.
The Liberal Democrat urged shoppers at Asda in Chandler's Ford to back our campaign, calling on the government to safeguard free countywide travel for pensioners.
"This is a good Daily Echo campaign that I'm happy to back," he said.
"If the bus companies won their case it would reduce the quality of life of many pensioners in the Hampshire area, with no benefit to the bus companies because they will have to continue to run the buses that aren't being used."
