A man in his 20s has suffered injuries to his face after a late-night altercation near a pub in Sholing.
At around 9pm on Saturday evening, police attended an incident on South East Road after reports that an 'altercation' was taking place.
Social media reports suggested it was near The Robin Hood pub, with around nine police cars in attendance.
Police said that a man in his 20s suffered facial injuries during the incident and that the force is carrying out enquiries in order to find out what happened.
A spokesperson for the police said: "We were called at 9.07pm yesterday evening (Saturday 20 April) to reports of an altercation taking place on South East Road.
"A man in his 20s sustained injuries to his face.
"Enquiries into the circumstances of this incident are underway."
