A fire ripped through a warehouse at a large supermarket on Tuesday.

Firefighters were called to the scene at Tesco off Tebourba Way in Southampton, just before 5pm.

Crews from Redbridge, St Mary’s and Eastleigh were in attendance.

The blaze was in the roof of an external part of the building, according to Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire Service.

A spokesperson said: “The fire was extinguished using two hose reel jets.

“The Aerial Ladder Platform (from Southsea) was used for access and to investigate for any further signs of fire.

“The initial call came in at around 4.45pm and the stop message just after 6pm.”
