AN inquest has opened into the death of a man who fell from a flat balcony in Southampton.

Ryan Seal, of Centenary Plaza, died on March 29.

The inquest into the 27-year-old's death was opened at Winchester Coroners' Court on Wednesday, April 10. 

The cause of death was given as multiple injuries due to a fall from height.

After the incident, a police spokesman said: "We were called at 8.47pm on Friday, 29 March to reports of a man having suffered a fall from height from a flat balcony at Centenary Plaza, Southampton.

"Sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.​

"His family has been informed.​

"Officers are conducting enquiries to establish the circumstances that led to this incident.​"

The full inquest will be held at Winchester Coroners' Court on April 25 next year.
