The front of a shop was damaged after an attempted robbery, it has been confirmed.
Morrisons Daily in Romsey was closed on Monday following the incident.
The supermarket chain told the Echo that no staff members were hurt.
A spokesperson said: “There was an attempted robbery at the store on Monday morning but thankfully no colleagues were hurt.
“We are assisting the police with their inquiries and are hoping to be back open later this week.”
The shop’s shutter was severely dented as a result and a glass window smashed.
Police taped off the store to shoppers on Monday as repair works were carried out.
