The cause of a major fire which destroyed a family home has been classified as ‘accidental’.
Fourteen crews battled the blaze in Curdridge Lane, Curdridge, at the peak of the incident on Sunday, February 11 night.
The fire investigation team has confirmed that the fire, which started in the roof space, has been classified as accidental, but the exact cause has been listed as undetermined.
No one was injured but the roof of the mansion was unsalvageable and the ground-floor suffered significant water damage.

More than 60 firefighters from Botley, Bishop’s Waltham, Hightown, Fareham, Eastleigh, Wickham, St Mary’s, Droxford, Cosham and Hamble worked through the night to stop the large fire.
The fire was surrounded shortly after midnight, when relief crews from Basingstoke, Alton, Hayling Island, Grayshott, Gosport, Rushmoor, Lymington and Horndean took over from the firefighters who were first on the scene.
The stop message came in shortly after 9am the following day but Curdridge Lane remained closed for most of the day for dampening down and investigations into the cause.
