Drivers in and around Southampton will have six National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

But the news isn't too bad, with all of them only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M27, from 8pm February 13 2023 to 6am February 17 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 both directions, junction 4 to junction 8, carriageway, slip road and lane closures for resurfacing work.

• M27, from 9am November 13 2023 to 5pm February 23 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 both directions, junction 3 to junction 2, 24/7 hard shoulder closure for structures work.

And a further four closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M27, from 9pm November 28 to 5am November 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 westbound, junction 5 to junction 4, Lane closure for communication works.

• M27, from 8pm November 29 to 6am November 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 southbound and M27 eastbound, Interchange, Lane closures for technology work.

• M27, from 8pm December 4 to 6am December 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 westbound to M3 northbound, link road lane closure for M3 Concrete barrier Scheme.

• M27, from 8pm December 10 to 6am December 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M271 both directions Redbridge to M27, junction 3, slip road and lane closures for drainage work.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
