Senior coroner Christopher Wilkinson said that Mr Farooq’s relationship with his partner had broken down in the days leading up to his death.

The hearing was told he had been involved in a heated exchange with his partner over the phone, the hearing was told.

During the exchange, he climbed onto the balcony of his flat, telling his partner via a live-stream that he would jump off before he fell.

Mr Wilkinson said it is currently unknown if Mr Farooq jumped or slipped.

His initial cause of death has been given as multiple injuries caused by a fall from height.

The full inquest has been adjourned and will take place at Winchester Coroner’s Court on November 6 next year.

Hampshire police said Mr Farooq's death was initially being treated as unexplained but was later reclassified to non-suspicious.
