Following this week’s dance-off on Strictly Come Dancing, a seventh celebrity has been eliminated from the 2023 series.

Adam Thomas and his professional partner Luba Mushtuk went up against Angela Rippon and Kai Widdrington, with Adam and Luba losing out.

The former Waterloo Road and Emmerdale star, 35, faced the dance-off for the second week in a row, but couldn't escape elimination this time.

Adam and Luba earned the joint-lowest score on Saturday's live show with 27 points, which was the same as Angela Scanlon and Carlos Gu.

However, with the public vote included it ended up being Angela and Kai facing them in the dance-off.

How did the Strictly dance-off go?

Adam and Luba repeated their rumba routine to Calum Scott's 'Dancing On My Own' whilst Angela and Kai performed their waltz to 'Fascination' by Nat King Cole again.

Ahead of the show, Adam had revealed on Instagram that Scott's song held a great significance to him as it is his wedding song with his wife Caroline.

Judge Anton Du Beke described the dance-off as the "closest" of the series so far, and Craig Revel Horwood said it was a "tough" choice to make as he felt both of the pairs had improved from the live show.

He ended up picking Angela and Kai to stay based on “technique alone”.

Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Du Beke agreed with him, which ensured Angela and Kai survived to compete in next week's show with a unanimous decision.

Speaking about his time on Strictly Come Dancing Adam it has been "amazing" and that he had learnt so much about himself.

Some fans were sad to see Adam go but felt the correct call had been made, with one person posting: "That was so the correct decision tonight. Sad to see Adam go however there was very little Rumba content."

Another put: "Poor Adam was cursed the second he got given a Rumba, sadly the rumba curse strikes again, and I think it was the right decision."
