An MP has suspended a member of his staff after footage surfaced appearing to show the worker dressed up as Jimmy Savile.
Daniel Sydenham has been suspended by Eastleigh MP Paul Holmes from his role as senior parliamentary assistant.
The action came after a video surfaced of Mr Sydenham dressed as disgraced TV presenter Jimmy Savile simulating a sex act on an inflatable doll at a Halloween party.
The footage, shared with The Echo's sister paper The National in Scotland, shows him dressed in Savile's trademark brightly coloured shell suit and tinted glasses holding the doll aloft.
A voice can be heard saying “go” at which point Mr Sydenham appears to mimic a sexual act on the doll before lifting it above his head and grinning at the camera.
A caption on the footage, before a tag linking to Mr Sydenham’s social media account, reads: “Jim fixed it for me.”
Conservative MP Mr Holmes told the Echo: "As soon as I was made aware of the allegations I suspended the individual concerned.
"I in no way condone or tolerate the actions of this individual."
He is understood to be in contact with Parliament's human resources department.
Savile was best known as the presenter of Jim’ll Fix It, broadcast on BBC One between 1975 and 1994 and also appeared as a presenter on Top of the Pops between 1964 and 1988.
The Leeds-born presenter died in 2011 at which point allegations over his paedophilia exploded leading to an investigation by the Metropolitan Police with around 300 victims coming forward.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Mr Sydenham worked for the Conservative Party from 2018 to 2019 before taking on jobs in the offices of a number of Tory MPs.
Between October 2020 and April 2022 he worked as parliamentary caseworker to Mark Menzies, MP for Fylde.
He also held roles as parliamentary intern to Robert Halfon, MP for Harlow and parliamentary assistant to Andrew Rosindell, MP for Romford.
Mr Sydenham took up a role with Mr Holmes in 2022, when the MP was the parliamentary private secretary to then home secretary Priti Patel.
He was promoted to be Mr Holmes’s senior parliamentary assistant in October last year.
Mr Sydenham has been approached for comment.
