THE Red Arrows are set to fly over the city as Southampton International Boat Show returns next month. 

The flyover will take place on Saturday, September 16 as hundreds of exhibitors gather for the event at Mayflower Park. 

The display will be followed by a Hurricane flypast on Saturday, September 23 as the iconic World War 2 plane takes to the city's skies. 

On the closing day of the boat show, September 24, the Hurricane will be joined by the Spitfire for a flypast just after 11.30am.

The international boat show is returning for its 54th year. 

It will start on September 15 and is expected to see over 600 craft on display with a purpose-built marina, food stalls and family entertainment. 

Also returning is the Rose Road Association mass swim event which offers a rare opportunity to swim around the Port of Southampton. 

Swimmers will take to the water at 9am on September 17 to complete the 1km course.

The On the Water Zone will also allow visitors to get on the water in two unique ways.

The ‘Get Afloat with Rockley Watersports’ will provide dinghy sailing, kayaking and paddle boarding whilst ‘Try and Boat with Flexisail’ will give guests the chance to get onboard a yacht, motorboat, or RIB.

Adult tickets are on sale from £26 with up to two children aged 15 and under permitted free entry to the show.
