SOUTHAMPTON has had a 57 per cent surge in stag and hen bookings following the Covid-19 pandemic.

Long gone are the nights out in Las Vegas or city trips to Prague, as a shift in trends has seen couples celebrate the last of their freedom closer to home.

Since lockdown, Southampton along with the likes of Harrogate in North Yorkshire has seen over a 50 per cent rise in stay-at-home stags, since 2019.

Matt Mavir, Managing Director of Last Night of Freedom said: “Lockdown opened a lot of people’s eyes to the joys of Britain. Staycations really made us appreciate that there’s more to the UK than London and few other big cities.

“Since the pandemic, we’ve had fewer groups heading to traditional hotspots like Munich and Ibiza. However, that’s been more than balanced out by a huge upswing in demand for the likes of Southampton.”
