Reports of violence and sexual offences were the highest reported crime in September in Southampton, according to the latest police data.

Figures from police.uk show there were a total of 3,215 crimes recorded across the city in that month.

Violence and sexual offences was the most reported crime with 1,259 reports.

This was followed by Public Order offences at 320 reports, anti-social behaviour at 272 reports and criminal damage + arson at 258 reports.

Similar numbers were recorded for vehicle crime (259), burglary (206), other theft (206) and shoplifting (181).

The lowest recorded crime was theft from the person at 28 reports, with other smaller numbers being reported for possession of weapons (49), bicycle theft (68), robbery (31), drugs offences (66), and other crime (36).
