HAMPSHIRE gritters are on stand-by tonight, as county road chiefs prepare for a plummet in temperatures.
Road surface temperatures in Hampshire's were falling to below freezing with wet roads from dew predicted.
Hampshire Highways teams were gearing up for a salt run from 6.30pm today, but have since released an update.
A spokesperson said: "There has been a shift in the earlier forecast to warmer road surface temperatures.
"We'll keep a close eye on this and our guys will be on standby in case of change, but for now there will be no action across all domains."
Drivers are advised to take care on their journeys home.
