THOUSANDS of seafood fans flocked to the New Forest this weekend for a feast of fresh fish.

The Lymington Seafood Festival returned for a second year, with almost 20,000 people turning up across two day event.

Around 90 different stalls were set up, selling everything from fresh fish to lobsters, prawns oysters.

There was also live music and a demonstration stage manned by both local and TV chefs.

Jane Devonshire, Masterchef winner 2016, attended the event along with chef Steve Buher from The Kitchen, Chewton Glen, and Matt Tomkinson, head chef at the Montague Arms.

The festival took place for two days over the weekend supporting local Hampshire charity Sails 4 Cancer.

Despite the wet weather, the festival still saw a turn out of 12,000 people on Saturday and a further 7,000 on Sunday

Domine Nowell, event director, said: "We are thrilled with the attendance for our second year.

"We've had a great turn-out of stalls and people.

"The weather wasn't on our side but everyone still had a really good time.

She added: "This is an annual event and we are really looking forward to next year."
