THERE’S still time to register for the Echo-backed South Coast Business Works and to take an exhibitor stand at the event.

To date more than 20 companies and organisations have taken stands at the event, to be held at Novotel Southampton, on Wednesday, February 1.

There are three keynote speakers at the event who can offer a special insight into the way the area will be developing in the future.

They are Brad Roynon from Go! Southampton, Dave Lees, managing director of Southampton Airport, and Andy Collyer manager of Westquay shopping centre.

Brad has worked in the NHS and in local government, having been chief executive of three local authorities, including Southampton City Council, over a period of 22 years. Over this time the importance of working with business to support economic growth has been of increasing significance. The title of his talk will be ‘Business growth through Business Improvement Districts’.

The title of Dave Lees’s presentation will be ‘Southampton Airport – serving the South’ and Andy Collyer’s is ‘Westquay Watermark: Creating a new leisure destination for Southampton’.

During the afternoon there will be a question time session with a specially selected panel.

They are Mike Warren, managing director of the Harbour Hotels Group, Derek Headrige, campus principal of Totton College, Simon Rhodes, senior partner at law firm Trethowans, Catherine Turness, executive director of Winchester Business Improvement District (BID); and Nella Pang, chair of the Southampton Property Association.

The session will be chaired by Lee Peck, of Southampton-based PR company Lee Peck Media, whose career spans more than 30 years as a journalist, broadcaster, PR professional, management consultant and motivational speaker.

Business Works will take place at Novotel Southampton, on Wednesday, February 1 from 10am – 4pm.
