A HAMPSHIRE man is one of three people charged with conspiracy to burgle after a cash machine was blown up at a petrol station.

Police were called to the station after an "almighty" explosion which neighbours said was so strong they thought their block of flats would collapse.

The men were arrested at the Shell garage in North Orbital Road, Denham Green, at about 11.40pm on September 8.

Trevor McCarthy, 42, of Barlby Road, Landbroke Grove, West London, Gary Mills, 39, of Fleetwood Close, Chalfont St Giles, and Ray Abraham, 36, of Hobart Drive, Hythe, Southampton, were charged with conspiracy to burgle in connection to a series of similar attacks in the south-east, after an investigation by officers from the Metropolitan Police’s Flying Squad.

They appeared in custody at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, September 10 where they were remanded in custody to next appear at Kingston Crown Court on Friday, October 7.
