A TEENAGE pedestrian has been killed and a second seriously injured in a collision on a Hampshire road in the early hours of this morning.

Officers were called at about 4.15am (Sunday, November 3) following reports that a green Honda Civic had been in collision with two teenage pedestrians.

The collision happened near to the junction between Ann’s Hill Road and Brougham Street in Gosport.

One of the pedestrians, a 14-year-old girl from Gosport, sadly died at the scene. The other girl, a 16-year-old, also from Gosport, sustained serious injuries and is currently being treated at Queen Alexandra Hospital.

Sergeant Andy Lynch said: “Were you in the area this morning? Did you see this collision or see the vehicle prior to the incident?

“We are working to piece together exactly what happened and any information from members of the public could be very helpful to our investigation.”

A 20-year-old man from the Gosport area has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and is currently in police custody.

Road closures are currently in place on Ann’s Hill Road at its junctions with Middle Cross Lane and the A32. Motorists are advised to avoid the area at this time.
