GOALS 56 AND 57: May 2, 2011 Plymouth 1 Saints 3 Lambert broke through the 20-goal barrier for the season and helped effectively ensure Saints’ place in the Championship. After heading them in front right on half-time, he made it 3-0 from the penalty spot just before the hour mark.
GOAL 58: August 9, 2011 Saints 4 Torquay 1 (Carling Cup) After both sides traded early goals, Lambert put Saints in front for good with a superb 25-yard free-kick that cleared the wall and beat the Torquay keeper.
GOALS 59 AND 60: August 16, 2011 Ipswich 2 Saints 5 Lambert scored his first ever Championship goals to power Saints into an early 2-0 lead. A tremendous one-two with Adam Lallana set him free for the first before Lallana set him free again minutes later to finish sublimely into the far corner. His joy is obvious.
