GOAL 31: March 28, 2010 – Carlisle 1 Saints 4 (Johnstone’s Paint Trophy) Carlisle keeper Adam Collin actually got fingertips to a Lambert penalty – a feat in itself – but could do nothing to keep the powerful strike, hit high to his left, out. Lambert’s Wembley spot-kick, after a blatant handball, put Saints 1-0 up and sent them on their way to a comfortable win and a rare piece of silverware.
GOALS 32 AND 33: April 13, 2010 Bristol Rovers 1 Saints 5 Lambert scored twice against his former club to put Saints into a 2-1 lead and on their way to a landslide victory after they had fallen behind early on. First, he headed in Jason Puncheon’s corner before firing in a 30-yard free-kick in added time at the end of the first half.
GOAL 34: April 24, 2010 – Saints 3 Carlisle 2 With the aid of the near post, Lambert finished off Michail Antonio’s cross early in the second half to put Saints 2-1 ahead, before returning the favour by setting up the winger for the third goal shortly afterwards.
GOAL 35: May 8, 2010 – Saints 3 Southend 1 Saints fell behind, but Lambert equalised with his 30th league goal of the season, heading in Jason Puncheon’s delivery
