GOAL 26: March 2, 2010 –Saints 5 Huddersfield 0 Lambert kick-started an incredible destruction of the Terriers, heading Jason Puncheon’s early cross in off the underside of the bar. From that moment on, Saints ran riot, although Lambert had to settle for just one goal.
GOALS 27-29: March 20, 2010 – MK Dons 0 Saints 3 The striker scored his first ever Saints hat-trick, as he broke through the 30-goal barrier for the season, including his opening-day effort for his former club Bristol Rovers. After heading into an empty net, Lambert added a penalty and then a wonder goal, scoring with a 40-yard half-volley that flew over the keeper’s head.
GOAL 30: March 23, 2010 – Saints 3 Hartlepool 2 Lambert took his Saints tally to 30 and helped send them into the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final on the back of a win. His well-struck half-volley shortly before half-time made it 2-1.
