GOAL 16: December 5, 2009 Walsall 1 Saints 3 Lambert rounded off a comfortable away win for Saints, burying a chance into the bottom corner from David Connolly’s precision pass midway through the second half.
GOALS 17 AND 18: December 12, 2009 Saints 3 Tranmere 0 Lambert netted a spectacular free-kick, rifling in a 30-yard thunderbolt to complete the rout, after his earlier penalt had built on the lead given to Saints by Dan Harding.
GOAL 19: December 28, 2009 Colchester 2 Saints 1 A lot of people didn’t see this one, and that includes those in the ground. Dense fog at Colchester made visibility difficult as Lambert stepped up to take a penalty in added time, but the striker still duly converted the consolation effort.
GOAL 20: January 2, 2010 Saints 1 Luton 0 (FA Cup) A gem of a free-kick from the striker, as he whipped a beautiful first-half free-kick over the wall and into the top corner from 25 yards, to break their non-league opponents’ resistance.
