GOAL 12: November 11, 2009 – Saints 2 Charlton 1 (Johnstone’s Paint Trophy) Lambert finished off a lovely move to put Saints into an unassailable 2-0 lead, as they edged a step closer to Wembley. After Papa Waigo fed the ball into Lallana, he rolled it back to Lambert, who took a touch and then drove the ball into the bottom corner from 18 yards.

GOAL 13: November 15, 2009 Saints 1 Brighton 3 A late first-half penalty gave Lambert the chance to make it 2-1.

As always, he made no mistake from the spot, striking the ball low into the bottom corner, halving Brighton’s lead in the process. In the end, however, the goal was for naught.

GOAL 14: November 24, 2009 Hartlepool 1 Saints 3 After setting up Adam Lallana’s equaliser, Lambert made certain that the Saints fans who had made the long trip on a Tuesday night went home happy, closing down a clearance from the Hartlepool keeper before slotting the ball into the net for the team’s third goal.

GOAL 15: December 1, 2009 Saints 1 Wycombe 0 Not a pretty game, but a moment of quality from Lambert swung it Saints’ way. He clinically drilled the ball into the bottom corner just before half-time, after receiving a square pass from Papa Waigo, who had escaped the attention of the Wycombe backline.
